Lake Oswego lays claim to first 2010 midnight baby? | Events
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
Brian Detweiler-Bedell in Lake Oswego sent us this picture of the birthing team and his "midnight baby."
"Our daughter Coriander Carolyn Detweiler-Bedell was born tonight at 12:00 and 5 seconds [on New Year's Day] according to the NIST atomic clock. She weighed in at 8lbs 15oz, and is 22 inches long. The five seconds cost us a good bit (the tax deduction!), but were every bit worth it!! We have time stamped photos with, in addition, a shot of the clock right right when she was born. Our own clock and one midwife said 12:00 and 30 seconds, the other said 11:59 and 50 seconds. So the decision was to take the watch of the latter and compare it to the NIST atomic clock online, and her watch was running 15 seconds behind. So, 12:00 and 5 seconds it is.
"This wasn't a hospital birth, but a home birth. A perfectly amazing experience in every way," he writes.
Congratulations Detweiler-Bedell family!
